Athens Neighborhood Health Center is proud to recognize National Pharmacists Day and celebrate the incredible work of our pharmacy team.

Pharmacists play a vital role in patient care, often serving as one of the most accessible and trusted members of the healthcare team. At ANHC, our pharmacists go far beyond dispensing medications. They take the time to educate patients, answer questions, and ensure that every individual understands their treatment and feels confident in managing their health.

For many of our patients, access to affordable medications can be a barrier to care. Our pharmacy team works diligently to remove that barrier, helping patients navigate costs, understand their options, and receive the medications they need. Their work directly supports better health outcomes and allows patients to focus on their well-being rather than the stress of affordability.

Pharmacists are also a critical part of care coordination at ANHC. They collaborate closely with providers, helping to manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Their attention to detail and commitment to patient safety ensures that medications are used effectively and appropriately.

What stands out most is the care they show to every patient. Whether it is taking extra time to explain a new prescription, helping a patient understand side effects, or simply offering reassurance, our pharmacists consistently meet patients with patience, respect, and compassion.

Today, we recognize and thank our pharmacy team for the essential role they play in our organization and in the lives of our patients. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt every day across our community.

Our Pharmacy Direction, Saman Kazemi, and our pharmacists, Crystal Tarpley and Scott Halcomb, are phenomenal members of our team. They are so dedicated to serving our patients, and they have all been working particularly diligently this year as we prepare to open our second pharmacy location at 675 College Avenue, mid-2026!

We are grateful for their dedication and proud to celebrate them today and every day.
